HIGHLY COMMENDED: ESOR AFRICA (PTY) LTD, UMHLANGA STORMWATER PIER
The main stormwater system that collects runoff from the greater part of Umhlanga Rocks was found to have inadequate future capacity, a series of contracts to increase the size of the lower reaches of the system was thus commissioned. From the outset, the pier was planned as a highly functional strormwater structure with strong aesthetic design elements and to minimize environmental impact on the very visible rock pools that give the area its unique character.
