WINNER: GRID CONSTRUCTION PTY LTD, VIRGIN ACTIVE MOSES MABHIDA STADIUM
The contract was to build a double storey gym within the Moses Mabhida stadium. It was to include a double volume indoor pool, a spa area as well as an internet and meeting room facility. Building within the stadium came with its challenges as the club was constructed to incorporate a square design into an oval area. Quality and waste control was ensured through strict supervision on site. Tying into the existing structure had to be controlled in order to ensure that it did not impact on the stadiums stability.
