The 542m2 site is located in Edendale Pietermartizburg within the centre of Edendale Mall. Access to the site was extremely restricted to a rear access passage, where all materials were to be brought in through a single fire escape door. All existing tenants were not to be affected by our construction. Safety of existing tenants cliental was of utmost importance, allowing safe access in the walkways.
This area was an empty shell when handed to the contractor. The task was to construct and plumb male, female and paraplegic toilet facilities, tile the floors, erect new suspended ceilings and partitions to create a new bank hall. ATM room and facilities, sales and consultant's area, back office area, pause room, data and records room. 24 Security is of high importance and the CCTV and alarm installation had to be co-ordinated.
