HIGHLY COMMENDED: WBHO - WILD COAST SUN WATERPARK - WILD WAVES
This project was known as the Wild Coast Sun Waterpark during construction. It is now known as "Wild Waves". Work on this contract commenced in January 2011 and the completed park including snagging was opened to public on the 8th December 2011. Before the start of the project all protected species were removed and stored off site. These trees and plants were then re-planted when the slides and concrete work was complete. The slide bases and the pump rooms were off shutter concrete but also had to blend in with the overall theme of looking old and run down. The bolt installation was done to a 2mm tolerance which meant a surveyor full time on site. No interruptions or delays were experienced on installation of the fibreglass slides which are supported by intricate structural steel work. All the concrete pathways followed the natural contours.
