The scope of work on this project was to construct a 4 bed roomed house with a loft in Garlington estate in Hilton. The estate in itsself poses some serious challenges for any builder as it borders on a conservancy where streams and wildlife are present, posing environmental challenges that include general working space.
The soil conditions in the estate required strip foundations with piling though extensive earthworks were needed to prepare the site. The walls are conventional brick and plaster with the slab being reinforced concrete. The roof is a combination of corrugated chromodek and concrete slabs. The finishing’s included external windows and doors being aluminium with a combination of tiles and carpets for flooring. Granite tops and polished concrete was required for the kitchen. The double garage included automatic doors and heat pumps as a hot water system.
