Winner: WBHO Construction KZN, Ballito Junction Regional Mall

The success of the Ballito Junction project depended to a large degree on the completion of the concrete structure in as short a time as possible. With 3 levels of coffer slab in the retail area totalling 85,000m2, and 4 levels of post tensioned slab in the parking area totalling 60 000m2 to construct in 14 months, the task seemed insurmountable and required a great deal of out-of-the-box thinking and some innovative ideas.
