Winner: Idube Civils (Pty) Ltd, Winterton Soya Mill

Winterton soya mill is located in the KZN, roughly about 2hours from PMB. The soya mill dries agricultural crop to an optimum moister content to allow for adequate storage over a period of time.

In 2016 whilst drying product it caught alight and caused the plant to burn. Luckily, they could supress the fire and limit the damaged caused.

The main objective of the project was to refurbish and add additional equipment to ensure that the plant is functioning to its original design and working.

Idube had to remove the old dryer from its position and transport it to the workshop for refurbishment.

Items removed included the dryer, conveyors, screw conveyors, HVAC system, Bucket elevator motors and drive units, structural roof sheeting and beams. Items added to new design were the Cyclone and its heat cladding.
