Winner: Stefanutti Stocks Building KZN - Mercedes Benz South Africa – Building 34

Stefanutti Stocks Building KZN partnered with Aecom and Osmand Lange Architects (OLA) and interpreted the technical specification, designed the building and priced our design.

It was very complex with the demolition of existing structures required, different European standards required in the walls and roof design requiring a composite build-up of 3 different components and construction of a new 17,000m2 logistics warehouse new for Mercedes Benz South Africa at their plant in East London which produces all variants of the C-Class Mercedes Benz predominantly for international export.

Stefanutti Stocks Botani Axsys JV took over the project after the former contractor liquidated. Works commenced in April 2018 but the original completion date of December 2018 remained unchanged. As such the original construction period had effectively been reduced by 4 months.
