WINNER : F.S. GONZALVES CONSTRUCTION - AUDI CENTRE MARGATE
This letter confirms that FS Gonzalves Construction commenced & completed the new Audi Centre Margate, based on Lot 3848, Margate, KwaZulu Natal. The new facility comprises of a new vehicle showroom, customer zone , direct reception, offices, new pre-owned showroom, new boardroom, new ablutions, extensive refurbishment of the existing showroom. The building in itself was technically a very difficult build. Quality control of the building works was prescribed and inspected by Audi Germany.
Audi Germany indicated that in terms of building workmanship, Audi centre Margate ranked in the top 95% of all facilities based in Africa.

The work to the exterior of the project comprised the removal of defective paint coatings by means of 250 bar high pressure cleaning, the making good of surfaces, treatment of spalling, the application of a fibre reinforced coating and repainting of the entire exterior of all surfaces of the building.
The client required a paint system and workmanship that would support a 7 year guarantee, and Smith&Winfield contracted Kansai Plascon as the paint supplier. The site was visited 3 times a week by Plascon to monitor the work in order that they could provide the client with their 360 degree guarantee, which is supported by Smith&Winfield’s workmanship guarantee.
